Switch from periodic polling (every 500ms) to event-driven inotify monitoring via Gio.FileMonitor for instant brightness change detection. This reduces CPU overhead and provides immediate response to external brightness changes (e.g., from hardware keys or other applications). Falls back to polling if inotify setup fails.
